Hymn and Glee

On the occasion of Thomas Pynchon’s 80th birthday on May 8th, 2017, a birthday party (in absentia of Pynchon, needless to say) was organized at Cabaret Voltaire in Zurich. Among shuffling, drinking, suspended bananas, and a birthday cake with a marzipan V-2 rocket, Tyler Burba performed a number of the tunes that were later developed into proper arrangements for this album. He also performed two of the solo pieces here, “Hymn” and “Glee” from The Crying of Lot 49.
